Office Manager


Med-Hire is seeking an Office Manager for an Urgent Care office in Virginia Highlands!

This person will assume the responsibility of leading and directing the daily operations as outlined by the Practice Owner/Physician. This position works in concert with the physician director in overseeing administrative, financial, and developmental activities of the practice.

The hiring physician is looking for a candidate who can help grow the practice. Social media and marketing will be a huge focus. Insurance knowledge and experience with insurance contract negotiations are a must.

Essential job responsibilities include:

  1. Oversees the daily operations of the organization by creating and implementing policies and procedures
  2. Business marketing and social media management
  3. Negotiates better reimbursement rates with insurance companies with the goal of increasing revenue
  4. Develops and implements short- and long-term work plans and objectives working with assigned supervisors and/or key personnel in all departments
  5. Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary. Ensures that office is staffed appropriately
  6. Recruits and hires employees
  7. Supports and upholds established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, regulatory requirements and compliance
  8. Knowledge of medical practices, terminology and reimbursement policies

Education, Experience, and Abilities:

  1. Completion of high school or equivalent, college level business management preferred
  2. 5+ years’ experience in a medical practice environment
  3. 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  4. Strong financial background with previous experience in physician office billing systems, accounts payable, general ledger, tax reporting and budgeting
  5. Demonstrable experience in personnel management and administration of payroll systems
  6. In-depth knowledge of compliance, personnel law, workplace safety, and other regulatory issues pertaining to group practice
  7. Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  8. Decisive leadership with above-average judgment
  9. Attentive to detail and accuracy
  10. Ability to anticipate critical issues and design effective interventions
  11. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of computer and software programs

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity and the practice is looking to hire someone as soon as possible! There are no benefits offered at this time since the practice is growing, but there is opportunity to earn quarterly bonuses!
